Considered to be the ‘Las Vegas’ of Asia, Macau was under Portuguese colonial rule for more than 400 years until its return to the motherland in 1999. Various architectural beauties abound on this small island of 450,000 people. It was recently granted the World Cultural Heritage Status in 2005.
